Our History and Network
Established in 2005, Kinecx Energy (previously firmus energy networks) was awarded a licence to develop a new natural gas network outside Greater Belfast. Since then, we’ve expanded to serve over 71,000 customers across Northern Ireland, with our network spanning more than 2,200km of pipeline across our ‘Ten Towns’ network area.
Our state-of-the-art polyethylene network is one of the most modern in Europe and is already prepared for the renewable gases of the future, including biomethane and hydrogen. This enables us to play a key role in Northern Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon economy while continuing to deliver reliable, efficient energy to homes and businesses.
